Updated FFEL Deferment Forms

The Department of Education announced approval of new FFEL deferment request forms on July 30, 2009 in Dear Colleague Letter FP-09-06. The new forms approved include:

• In-School Deferment Request
• Unemployment Deferment Request
• Economic Hardship Deferment Request
• Parent PLUS Borrower Deferment Request
• Education Related Deferment Request
• Public Service Deferment Request
• Temporary Total Disability Deferment Request
• Parental Leave/Working Mother Deferment Request

These updated forms are now available on the OGSLP Web site. We encourage you to begin using the new forms immediately. After January 1, 2010, only the new forms can be provided to borrowers; however you may continue to process previous versions of the form after that date.
