UCanGo2 February College Countdown

We know February is typically the month students begin working on the FAFSA, which makes it the perfect time to talk to students, parents and counselors about preparing financially for college. UCanGo2, our new comprehensive college access and outreach program, offers many useful tools to make your job easier … including your FAFSA education efforts!

We invite you to partner with UCanGo2 to host a College Countdown event in February. We're coordinating a series of campus events throughout the month as a more flexible alternative to past College Goal Sunday activities.

Remember that we offer instructional materials specifically designed for aid administrators, such as our UCanGo2 FAFSA 101 courses. The ‘FAFSA Fundamentals’ course provides an overview and essential understanding of the purpose and process of completing and submitting the FAFSA. The 'Focus on the FAFSA' course offers significantly more in-depth information for students and parents, including types of aid, evaluating dependency status and the SAR. Each FAFSA 101 course package includes a PowerPoint presentation, a Presenter’s Guide, recommended talking points and handouts. Updated courses reflecting the 2010-2011 application will be available soon.

OGSLP will hold a College Countdown planning meeting for participating institutions in January to share event materials and answer any questions. Cool promotional items and banners will be provided.
