Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship

The Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) offers the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship to children (age 23 or younger) of an active duty member of the Armed Forces who has died in the line of duty on or after Sept. 10, 2001. The VA will begin accepting applications on May 1, 2010, and will issue payments to eligible children starting Aug. 1, 2010. American Indian Education Program

The American Indian Education Program (AIEP) offers scholarships to Native American students for various amounts. Visit the AIEP website for award amounts, eligibility requirements and application deadlines.


Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program

The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP) will pay up to $25,000 each year toward repayment of qualified educational loans of eligible veterinarians who agree to serve in a National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA)-designated veterinarian shortage situation for a minimum period of three years. National Institutes of Health Loan Repayment Program

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers loan repayment awards to medical researchers through its extramural Loan Repayment Programs (LRP). NIH repays up to $35,000 per year of educational loan debt for individuals who commit to conducting two years of qualified biomedical or behavioral research at a nonprofit or government institution. Acceptable disciplines include clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, and clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Campus Compact

Campus Compact is a membership organization that encourages and supports its members in developing college students' awareness and skills in civic participation through service-learning, community service, and other methodologies. Carter Academic-Service Entrepreneur (CASE) Grants are administered by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Foundation and sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The $1,000 CASE grants go to students whose applications indicate the most innovative and promising use of the funds to establish or significantly further a partnership between the student (and his or her school) and a community non-profit organization. Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

The Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (OK-LSAMP STEM) is a consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities working together to develop programs that increase the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. OK-LSAMP STEM, which is funded through a grant by the National Science Foundation, is part of a national system of programs.

OK-LSAMP STEM offers undergraduates financial support; faculty mentoring and research opportunities; support to present research at local, regional, and national conferences and meetings; networking contacts; tutoring; and many other services.
