Hispanic Scholarship Fund

HSF/ General College Scholarships are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to graduating high school seniors, community college students, community college transfer students, undergraduate students and graduate students. Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest

Deadline: April 13, 2012

Through Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest five high school juniors or seniors can each win a $1,000 scholarship award to be used toward their higher education plus a Signet Classics library for their school! Essays must be submitted by a high school English teacher on behalf of students who write an essay on one of five topics for this year's competition book, Emma, by Jane Austen. Interest-Free Education Loan Programs

Rural Medicine Education Scholarship Loan Program

The Physician Manpower Training Commission (PMTC) offers up to $60,000 to students enrolled in a medical college and who have as their goal the practice of primary care medicine in rural Oklahoma. Recipients must agree to certain obligations, which are outlined on the PMTC website.


The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis

Each year, the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis (SFSTL) makes hundreds of loans up to $5,000 per year. The loans are for financially needy, meritorious student residents from areas in Missouri and Illinois. More information is available on the Foundation's website at SFSTL.org.


Evalee C. Schwarz Charitable Trust for Education

American Federation of Teachers Funding Database

The American Federation of Teachers Funding Database allows teachers to find funds for continuing education, professional development and for their classrooms using specific search information.



BrainTrack Teaching Scholarship

BrainTrack offers a variety of scholarships that help students pursue a career and fund their education at the same time. Current scholarships are available in a number of areas, including teaching, nursing and computer science. Visit the BrainTrack website for more information.



Physician Manpower Training Commission

The Physician Manpower Training Commission (PMTC) offers up to $1,000 per month to residents enrolled in an accredited family practice, family medicine, physician assistant and nursing programs in Oklahoma. Recipients must agree to certain obligations, which are outlined on the PMTC website.



Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program

Each year, the Air Force awards scholarships through the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). It pays for tuition, books and most fees. The HPSP also gives students a monthly stipend for living expenses while they attend the school of their choice. Eligible students must be accepted at an accredited graduate institution in an appropriate Health Professions training program. American Association for Health Education

The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) offers a number of scholarships to students interested in or currently enrolled in teaching and health education programs. Visit the AAHE website for more information.



Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship

The Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) offers the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship to children (age 23 or younger) of an active duty member of the Armed Forces who has died in the line of duty on or after Sept. 10, 2001. The VA will begin accepting applications on May 1, 2010, and will issue payments to eligible children starting Aug. 1, 2010. American Indian Education Program

The American Indian Education Program (AIEP) offers scholarships to Native American students for various amounts. Visit the AIEP website for award amounts, eligibility requirements and application deadlines.


Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program

The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP) will pay up to $25,000 each year toward repayment of qualified educational loans of eligible veterinarians who agree to serve in a National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA)-designated veterinarian shortage situation for a minimum period of three years. National Institutes of Health Loan Repayment Program

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers loan repayment awards to medical researchers through its extramural Loan Repayment Programs (LRP). NIH repays up to $35,000 per year of educational loan debt for individuals who commit to conducting two years of qualified biomedical or behavioral research at a nonprofit or government institution. Acceptable disciplines include clinical research, pediatric research, health disparities research, contraception and infertility research, and clinical research for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Campus Compact is a membership organization that encourages and supports its members in developing college students' awareness and skills in civic participation through service-learning, community service, and other methodologies. Carter Academic-Service Entrepreneur (CASE) Grants are administered by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Foundation and sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The $1,000 CASE grants go to students whose applications indicate the most innovative and promising use of the funds to establish or significantly further a partnership between the student (and his or her school) and a community non-profit organization. Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

The Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (OK-LSAMP STEM) is a consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities working together to develop programs that increase the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. OK-LSAMP STEM, which is funded through a grant by the National Science Foundation, is part of a national system of programs.

OK-LSAMP STEM offers undergraduates financial support; faculty mentoring and research opportunities; support to present research at local, regional, and national conferences and meetings; networking contacts; tutoring; and many other services.
