A Fresh Start with Financial Education

We know that finances can be a primary reason many students drop out of school. Wouldn't it be helpful if there were an easier way to prepare them for the financial issues ahead as soon as they arrive on campus? There is!

Oklahoma Money Matters (OKMM), OGSLP's financial literacy program, can help you maximize early contact with students. For example, freshman orientation events and Life Skills classes are perfect venues to offer basic financial education. In addition to making the most of a large, captive audience, you can reach students when they're open to new information, excited about the adventures to come, and ready to start on the right foot.

From budgeting to credit to student loan management, you can arm students with the power to succeed. OKMM can help you strengthen orientation programs with personal finance instructional materials and train-the-trainer support, or by teaching free campus workshops during orientation activities!

If you need help building a financial literacy component, contact OKMM at 800.970.OKMM or oklahomamoneymatters@ogslp.org.
