FFELP Informational Materials Available
The National Council for Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) posted several informational pieces detailing the many useful services provided by Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) partners on the NCHELP Web site. These materials, developed by America’s Student Loan Providers (ASLP), outline the following topics:
- Information about federal student loans, including a chart comparing the federal loan programs on areas such as consumer choice, competition and financial education.
- Details about the advantages of participation in the FFELP, including the benefits of choice and competition, impacts for taxpayers, and comprehensive default prevention services.
- Information about the credit crisis, including the ongoing availability of FFELP loans despite the current economic downturn and the success of the Ensuring Continued Access to Student Loans Act (ECASLA).
These pieces are available for download and can be adapted for use in publications and as Web site content.
OGSLP is a proud member of the FFELP community, and we developed a flyer to demonstrate the many services Oklahoma’s FFELP lenders and OGSLP provide to schools and students. The FFELP is the largest financial aid program in the nation and the only federal student loan program that provides students and schools a choice in lenders and the resulting benefits of competition. Additionally, the FFELP community of schools, lenders and guarantors provides exceptional services that build money management skills, emphasize the importance of loan repayment and prevent default. It’s the best choice for schools and a winning partnership for students and families!
