How do your daily duties directly impact OGSLP's customers?
My primary responsibilities include processing death and disability discharges and teacher loan forgiveness. It’s my job to make sure borrowers understand the rules and qualifications for the discharge and forgiveness processes. I also contribute to the Systems Liaison team by providing support to OGSLP staff when they need help troubleshooting a system-related issue.

What advice would you give to someone in our industry who's new to working with student loans?
Take pride in what you do and recognize its importance. I’m happy in my job every day because I know I did everything I could to help and create a positive experience for every customer I come in contact with. It’s a great feeling when a satisfied borrower says ‘thank you.’

What do you find most challenging about working with student loans?
Keeping up with the ever-changing industry is a challenge, but I love a good challenge and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our agency.

What are some of the unique services your department provides our customers?
The Policy, Compliance and Training department addresses legislation, regulation and compliance inquiries that come from borrowers, schools and lenders. We also provide a great range of internal and external training. If someone has a burning question, we always find the answer!

What are your hobbies or interests?
My husband recently dragged me into his world of video games and we have a blast playing Rock Band together. I also enjoy word games, brain teasers and a great night out with the girls.
