Do You Know the Answer?

Q. Are students able to receive a TEACH Grant and still utilize the Teacher Loan Forgiveness program?

A. Yes. Some students mistakenly believe they can’t accept a TEACH Grant if they plan to utilize the Teacher Loan Forgiveness program. The Department of Education (ED) recently clarified that under the Stafford Loan and Perkins Loan programs, borrowers may apply the same years of service to meet service requirements for both the TEACH Grant and teacher loan forgiveness.
