FAFSA Tools to Make Your Work Easier
Have you ever wished the FAFSA could “talk” to the IRS to exchange student information? If so, you’ll be happy to know that the 2010-2011 FAFSA includes an IRS Data Retrieval tool, and now FAFSA on the Web offers this tool for initial and renewal applications. This feature enables Title IV student aid applicants and parents of dependents to transfer 2009 tax return information from an IRS website directly to their 2010-2011 FAFSA.
For more information about the IRS Data Retrieval tool, see the Nov. 5, 2009 e-announcement on the IFAP website.
Have you tried our FAFSA tools?
If you haven’t already, check out OGSLP’s FAFSA 101 course package, a set of tools designed to help you make the most of FAFSA workshops for students and parents. In addition to colorful PowerPoint presentations, FAFSA 101 offers a set of complementary and printable materials, including presenter’s guides and student handouts.
Which FAFSA 101 course is right for your workshop?
- FAFSA Fundamentals covers the basics of the financial aid application process. It was created for high school counselors and teachers to provide an overview of the FAFSA completion process.
- Focus on the FAFSA was developed for financial aid professionals and offers significantly more detailed information about the FAFSA process.
Both presentations and the complementary materials can be downloaded from the campus partner section of our UCanGo2 website.
