Two New NPRM Committees

The Sept. 9 Federal Register announced the establishment of two negotiated rulemaking committees to develop proposed regulations under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA). The first committee will focus on proposed regulations to maintain or improve program integrity in the Title IV, HEA programs. The second committee will focus on proposed regulations governing foreign schools, including implementation of the changes made to HEA by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), Public Law 110-315. ED anticipates these committee negotiations will begin at the end of October 2009.
