Do You Know the Answer?
Q. Are schools required to receive paper Notice of Loan Guarantees (NOGs)?
A. No. If a school receives the guarantee information via an electronic method, such as response or change files, it’s not required to receive a paper NOG. In an effort to reduce paper, postage and handling costs, OGSLP encourages schools to consider the option of suppressing the paper NOG process if they’re already profiled to receive electronic files. This more efficient approach would also help mitigate privacy concerns regarding personal information sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
