OGSLP Unveils New and Updated Publications

OGSLP developed several new publications to help students understand the financial aid process and make informed choices when considering student loans. We’ve also updated existing publications to reflect legislative changes and continue supporting your outreach and education efforts.

NCHELP/OGSLP Private Loan Brochure
We’re pleased to announce that the National Council on Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) and OGSLP have partnered to provide a second brochure about private loans, “Private Student Loans – Understanding the Cost of Borrowing.” The new brochure explains basic financial terms, finance charges, compound interest and the importance of considering the annual percentage rate (APR) when comparing loans.

As in the first NCHELP/OGSLP co-branded brochure of the series, “Private Student Loans – A Guide to Responsible Borrowing,” the new brochure encourages students to exhaust federal, state and school aid before turning to private loans.

Updated Deferment and Forbearance Flyers
OGSLP updated and refreshed two flyers designed to help students who have questions or concerns about repaying their student loans.

Federal Stafford and PLUS Loan Guide
OGSLP’s flagship publication, “Are You Looking for Money?,” has been revised to reflect updated interest rates and other recent changes that affect federal Stafford loans. The guide provides in-depth information for students and parents about planning for, applying for and repaying student loans. Additionally, OGSLP recently developed a condensed version of this publication to highlight the most essential student loan information for students. Both versions of “Are You Looking for Money?” have a bright, new look.
