'Better Together' at OGSLP's Annual Conference
At OGSLP’s Annual Conference on June 25, schools and lenders from around the state learned what it meant to truly be ‘better together.’ In addition to discussing important topics like IBR and July 1 changes, participants learned how the FFELP community can work together to spur innovation, overcome obstacles and support each other on the road to student success.

Upcoming Minimum Wage Increase
In 2007, the U.S. Troops Readiness, Veterans' Care, Katrina Recovery and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act amended the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 by increasing the federal minimum wage from $5.15 an hour in three steps.

Technical Amendment May Affect FAFSA, Veterans' Benefits
As reported previously, Education and Labor Committee Chair George Miller (D-CA) introduced a bill making technical corrections and conforming changes to the HEA. The bill, H.R. 1777, was signed by the President on July 1.
